Anticipation

I love the beach!  Anyone who knows me can tell you exactly how true this is.  In fact, a handful of readers just said “DUH!”  I try to go at least a few times each year.  Each time I’ve got a trip planned, I start counting down.  The anticipation is excruciating and wonderful all at the same time.  If I close my eyes, I can feel the sand under my feet, hear the waves crashing, feel the sun beating down on my face….oh, I’m sorry, what were we talking about?  Anyway, you get the point – I’m a true beach lover.

As believers, followers of Christ, Jesus Freaks, we should be experiencing the same type of anticipation.  When will I get to spend time with Him?  What does His Word have for me today?  When is He coming back for us???  We have been given the most incredible gift – a Savior who calls us friend.  And, we’ll get Heaven thrown in, too!

So, are you living in a state of anticipation?  If not….why?

Don’t burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don’t quit in hard times; pray all the harder.  Romans 12:11-12  The Message

Be blessed and tell someone that you love them!

About meanderingswithgod

I Write. It’s what I do. It’s as vital a part of me as breathing. I write when I’m happy. I write when I’m sad. I write when I don’t understand. Or when I understand a little too clearly. I write when God’s speaking to me. And when I’m speaking to Him. And, more often than not, it comes out in rhythm and rhyme. In my words, you’ll find laughter and tears, pain and triumph, confusion and clarity. In my words, if you bother to search, you’ll find me. So, it is with both excitement and trepidation that I begin. This blog. This writing that’s been so long coming. My words. God’s words. Don’t worry, you’ll be able to tell the difference. Mine are clumsy, His are eloquent. I hope, as you read my verbal meanderings, that you’ll be blessed and find yourself searching for Him.
