Time

Only in the presence of God can we get the refilling, the refueling that we need to do whatever it is He’s called us to.  Often, I think we get so busy doing His work that we forget that we’re supposed to be doing it with Him, in His strength….which only comes from spending time with Him.  The more time we spend avoiding it, the harder it is to go before Him.  I hope this poem encourages you to go to the source.

I resist, knowing it’s what I need,
But somehow afraid.
I stall, buying time, avoiding,
Fearful of what You may or may not say.
Yet, my heart longs for comfort,
Craves the time with You.
My spirit yearns for Your peace
That covers like the morning dew.
Help me, Lord, to give in,
To indulge that craving of love.
To spend time in Your presence,
Basking in that I can’t get enough of.

Be blessed and tell someone (especially God!) that you love them!

About meanderingswithgod

I Write. It’s what I do. It’s as vital a part of me as breathing. I write when I’m happy. I write when I’m sad. I write when I don’t understand. Or when I understand a little too clearly. I write when God’s speaking to me. And when I’m speaking to Him. And, more often than not, it comes out in rhythm and rhyme. In my words, you’ll find laughter and tears, pain and triumph, confusion and clarity. In my words, if you bother to search, you’ll find me. So, it is with both excitement and trepidation that I begin. This blog. This writing that’s been so long coming. My words. God’s words. Don’t worry, you’ll be able to tell the difference. Mine are clumsy, His are eloquent. I hope, as you read my verbal meanderings, that you’ll be blessed and find yourself searching for Him.
