Puppy Love

Nope, not the kind you’re thinking of!  I spent a little time in the yard with my best friend and her puppy today.  He was tied up just out of our reach – mostly to keep him out of our hair.  But, I learned a thing or two from that puppy today.  I sat down and started playing with him.  He was perfectly happy nipping at me and licking me….until my friend got close.  Then, I just wouldn’t do.  He tried with all his might to make his leash stretch just a little further so he could get to his mom.  Later, we had moved him to the other side of the house with us and he was a bit farther from us than before, but could still see us.  It wasn’t enough.  He whined and yipped, begging to be close, to be played with.

It reminded me of how we should be with our Heavenly Father.  Yes, the world He has us in can have some pretty fun distractions, but nothing should get in the way of us wanting to be closer to Him, spend time with Him.  Have you spent time at the feet of your Father, your Master today?

Be blessed and tell someone you love them!

And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.  Deuteronomy 6:5 KJV

About meanderingswithgod

I Write. It’s what I do. It’s as vital a part of me as breathing. I write when I’m happy. I write when I’m sad. I write when I don’t understand. Or when I understand a little too clearly. I write when God’s speaking to me. And when I’m speaking to Him. And, more often than not, it comes out in rhythm and rhyme. In my words, you’ll find laughter and tears, pain and triumph, confusion and clarity. In my words, if you bother to search, you’ll find me. So, it is with both excitement and trepidation that I begin. This blog. This writing that’s been so long coming. My words. God’s words. Don’t worry, you’ll be able to tell the difference. Mine are clumsy, His are eloquent. I hope, as you read my verbal meanderings, that you’ll be blessed and find yourself searching for Him.
